Cleaning Your Home the Natural Way

Why Cleaning without Harsh Chemicals is Safer and Healthier

Using the wrong household cleaners can be harmful – deadly even. For instance, let’s you start filling a bucket with a bleach-based product and realize you don’t have enough. Then you start adding an ammonia-based product to make up the difference. The mixture is going to unleash chlorine gas, a chemical weapon used by the Nazis during WWII. However, cleaning your home doesn’t have to be dangerous. You can do it naturally and safely – it’s just a matter of knowing how.

Make Your Own Cleaning Products

There are a number of cleaning products you can make at home that are free of harsh chemicals and detergents. For instance, sprinkling baking soda on a soiled area and then pouring fresh lemon juice over it will create a powerful cleaner that is much safer than the harsh commercial cleaners on the market.

A mix of vinegar and water can also be used in place of a commercial window cleaner. Just mix equal parts of water and vinegar and mix the solution in a spray bottle so it is readily accessible when it is time to clean. This solution can be used on windows and many other surfaces in your home including bathroom and kitchen areas.

Plain baking soda can be used in place of a number of the harsh abrasives many people use. You can even add scents to your homemade cleaning products with a few drops of essential oil such as lavender or eucalyptus.

Making your own homemade cleaning products using gentle ingredients such as baking soda provides peace of mind and you can rest assured that you are not exposing your family to harmful chemicals and you’ll probably save money in the process.

In addition to making your own household cleaning products, you may want to consider purchasing a vapor cleaner. By using a vapor cleaner, you can keep your home environment clean without the use of harsh chemicals – all it requires is ordinary tap water. You’ll also be pleased with the cleaning power that vapor cleaners can provide.

By taking the time to make your own natural household cleaners and investing in a quality vapor cleaner, you’ll be able to clean your home quickly, effectively and – most importantly – safely.
