Fatty Liver: The Serious Liver Disease No One Knows About

More and More People Are Being Diagnosed With Fatty Liver

When you think of diseases that could kill you, most people think about cancer or heart disease. Unfortunately, very few people consider how important the liver is and more and more people are being diagnosed with fatty liver, a condition that could potentially lead to life-threatening chronic liver disease and cirrhosis of the liver. Another thing people don't realize is that this condition is avoidable and may also be reversible. Here are some life-saving liver tips you need to know about...

Your Diet Can Kill You

If you think you're healthy because you avoid fast-food drive thrus, you're sorely mistaken. You could avoid fast food completely but still be eating a diet that is slowly killing your liver. Like pasta? Love cake? How about cheese? All of these foods can wreak havoc on your liver and eating too much of these foods may result in a condition known as fatty liver. Even fruits and vegetables can hurt your liver function if they contain traces of pesticides.

Why What You Eat is So Important

Every single thing you eat (whether it be food or medication) has to be processed by your liver. Unfortunately, many of the things we all love can do damage to the liver over time and can cause fat deposits to build up in your liver, leading to fatty liver disease. Artificial sweeteners, preservatives, chemicals, pesticides, hormones - all of these things are found in our foods and can slowly kill you over time.

What To Do

If you want to keep your liver healthy, learn about the foods to eat and the foods you shouldn't. Organic raw fruits and vegetables are wonderful for your liver. Juicing these healthy foods with a cold press (not centrifugal) juicer is also a great way to help keep your liver healthy and avoid fatty liver.

Also make sure you avoid foods that are processed or have artificial ingredients in them. White bread is a no no. Make sure your bread is a whole wheat or whole grain bread. When baking, don't use white flour. Use whole wheat flour. The more natural your food is, the better it is for you - with one exception. Sugar.

Sugar is not your friend. You can have small amounts of it, but when you consume too much it starts wearing on your liver and the other functions of your body. Instead, sweeten your food with stevia or other natural sweeteners that are liver friendly.

By taking care of your liver and eating properly you decrease your chance of developing fatty liver and increase your chances of living a long, happy and healthy life. Don't you deserve it?
