Finding the Right Mechanic

How to Find the Right Mechanic

If you don’t have a regular mechanic who you can trust, it can be a major headache when your car breaks down. Finding a reputable mechanic has never been easy, but in today’s day and age when you just never know who’s trying to take you for a ride, how do you keep from being taken?

Ask Friends

The first thing you should do when trying to find a reputable mechanic is to ask friends and family members who they use. A word-of-mouth recommendation means a lot and if your friends are willing to vouch for their mechanic, chances are they’re using a good one.

Don’t Trust Tow Truck Drivers

If your car breaks down it may be tempting to trust a tow truck driver, but chances are the same tow truck driver makes his or her money from referrals, so any opinions you receive will be biased, and that’s the last thing you want.

Check the BBB

Before using any mechanic, check the BBB to see if they have any outstanding complaints. If they do have outstanding complaints or numerous resolved complaints, look elsewhere for your car repair needs.
