Homebuyers Should Look for Extra Perks

Some Homebuyers Are Getting More Than They Pay For

For a long time, it was a seller’s market and homebuyers had to act quickly to get the home they wanted. Since the market has cooled down in most areas, many sellers are finding that adding perks to the deal can help their homes sell faster. Whether you’re a homebuyer looking for a great deal or a seller wanting to sell your home quickly, you may want to know about some of the latest perks being offered to homebuyers.

Free Mortgage Payments

Some sellers who have substantial equity in their home have sold their home in record time by offering to make the first few mortgage payments for the homebuyer. How many mortgage payments are made is up to the seller and most sellers have offered to make the mortgage payments for three months to a year. If you want to sell a home quickly, this is a great incentive to offer homebuyers and if you’re looking to buy a home, you may want to look for sellers offering this incentive.

Decorating Allowances

Sometimes homebuyers will like a home, but they won’t like the way the home is decorated. Redecorating a home can be expensive, so many homebuyers will not buy a home if they don’t like the way it’s been decorated. However, if a seller offers a decorating allowance to the buyers of the home, the way the home is decorated should not be an issue to homebuyers.

Appliance Allowances

Appliances are important to many homebuyers and if a home has old appliances or no appliances at all, it may cause homebuyers to pass it up. If an appliance allowance is offered to homebuyers, it can seal the deal since many homebuyers like the idea of being able to shop for new appliances for their new home.

Creative Incentives

Many sellers are getting creative with the bonuses they’re offering homebuyers. Some sellers have offered bonuses such as maid service for a year, snow removal for a year, frequent flyer miles and I have even heard of a seller who included a car with the sale of their home.
