Leftover Turkey Ideas

What Can You Do with All that Leftover Turkey?

Thanksgiving is now over and it is time to start thinking about what you are going to do with all that leftover turkey. You can really stretch your money further if you don’t let any leftover turkey go to waste. The following tips and suggestions will help you with using your leftover turkey.

Oh My, Turkey Pot Pie

Leftover turkey can receive a makeover and be used in several different ways. One great idea for leftover turkey is to make turkey pot pie. It is relatively easy to make turkey potpie. You can use a round larger dish or smaller disposable aluminum dishes to assemble your turkey potpie in.

Begin by pressing a premade refrigerated pie crust into the pan you have selected. Combine your leftover turkey and vegetables with leftover gravy or use a can of condensed cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup. Add leftover vegetables such as carrots, peas, and corn. You can add as little or as much vegetables as you want.

If you have your own recipe for crust that you want to use, go ahead. It is good to use a premade crust, either frozen or refrigerated, for convenience sake. Turkey potpie usually takes around 45 minutes in the over, a little longer if you are using frozen crust. You can probably find several recipes online or in your favorite cookbooks.

Easy, Everyday Sandwiches

Leftover turkey can also be reinvented into hot or cold turkey sandwiches. For a neat change of pace, wrap spinach leaves, leftover stuffing, and leftover turkey cut into 2-inch strips into a tortilla. Use different flavored tortillas for added variety.

Easy-To-Heat Meals

Another idea is to get individual plastic serving containers and freeze individual meals. Assemble some leftovers in a round container with three compartments. Store the containers in your freezer. This December after a busy day of holiday shopping you can simply take out a frozen dinner and pop it in the microwave.

The above tips will help you save money by not wasting any leftover turkey. In addition, to being a great way to save money, utilizing all your leftover turkey is tasty and convenient too.
