Legal Advice Without the High Price

How to Get Legal Advice Without Paying an Arm and a Leg

If you're like most consumers you run into the need for some good legal advice every now and then. The problem is that legal assistance doesn't come cheap. While a few lawyers may be wiling to give some advice or direction over the phone, some won't even take your call without running up a tab. What many people don't realize is that free legal advice is only as far as the nearest Internet connection. Here are some great resources.

Lawyers.com

Lawyers.com is a great interactive legal advice site. The site contains pages and pages of legal information. If you don't find what you're looking for, you can post your question to the site and a practicing lawyer can respond online. It's a great way to get your legal questions answered and it's absolutely free to use.

Findlaw.com

Findlaw is one of the most popular legal advice websites on the Internet. The site covers hundreds of legal topics including bankruptcy, divorce, employee rights and more. The site also has a lawyer directory with more than 1,000,000 lawyers listed. If you want legal advice or are looking for a lawyer in your area, this is the place to go.

FreeAdvice.com

FreeAdvice.com provides answers to basic legal questions, such as what you can expect from your insurance company if you run into "act of God" damages and how to handle calls from collection agencies. If you have more in-depth needs, they have a lawyer referral service. You fill out a form and they'll connect you with a competent lawyer in your area. The referral service is free but you'll have to pay the lawyer for any legal services they provide.

Of course, if you have complicated or in-depth legal needs, you're going to have to pay for legal services. While legal advice can be had free, actual legal representation costs money. Fortunately, the above sites can point you in the direction of a good attorney in addition to providing you with free general legal advice.
