Many Savvy Consumers Have a Dark Secret

Believe It or Not, Savvy Consumers Do Indulge a Little

As a savvy consumer, you’re probably familiar with how to get the best deals online, how to save big at the grocery store, and how to dress for less. It can be fun and profitable to save on every purchase you make, but let me ask you a question. What is your favorite indulgence? What product can’t you live without? Even savvy consumers who consistently pinch pennies have at least one guilty pleasure that they enjoy on occasion.

It’s Okay to Splurge

I’m not encouraging you to spend more money, but I am encouraging you to enjoy yourself. For some savvy consumers, expensive chocolate or expensive candy can be very enjoyable. Other consumers enjoy a leisurely day reading new paperback books while lounging on the beach.

If you have a guilty pleasure that doesn’t cost you a dime, then kudos to you. I enjoy expensive tea, and it’s not really an occasional indulgence because I drink it every day. I can’t go a day without it. Most savvy consumers I know also have something that they simply can’t live without.

Saving To Spend

Some savvy consumers utilize the money they save on groceries and other purchases to pay for their favorite indulgence. A subscription to your favorite magazine can be a great way for you to enjoy yourself and the hard work you do spend saving money.

Yes, it does take time and effort to save money, and a little reward for that effort is the perfect compromise.

Don’t You Deserve It?

Your reward doesn’t even have to be that expensive. You can give yourself an afternoon off so you can go to the library and read in a quiet and peaceful setting. You can spend a few hours on a long and leisurely walk.

Whatever you choose, make sure it is something you enjoy and is uniquely yours. Being a savvy consumer can be fun, but so are the rewards you allow yourself for all your hard work.
