Milk Delivery Isn't Just a Thing Of The Past

Get Reacquainted With Milk Delivery

Many of us think that milk delivery is something our grandmothers enjoyed, but not something feasible in today's market-driven world. Milk delivery, however, isn't just for the history books or those who have everything and anything delivered to their homes. Milk delivery may actually be a wise consumer decision.

Why Milk Delivery?

My family has recently started using a milk delivery service (Oberweis actually) and before you think I've lost my mind, let me tell you why we decided to do it.

I was buying all-natural milk at the grocery store up until now. Why? Because I just can't stomach seeing my kids drinking milk with hormones and antibiotics pumped into it. Milk is supposed to be wholesome. A lot of the milk for sale today isn't as wholesome as many believe.

I did the health-conscious thing to do. I bought all-natural milk. However, that can get to be pretty expensive, with some of it costing more than $8 or $9 a gallon. That's when I started looking for ways to save money and I found that milk delivery was just what I was looking for.

Oberweis is now delivering milk to my door every week for about $6 a gallon plus a $2.50 delivery charge. Since we go through about 4 gallons a week here, that's worth it. And not only is the milk delivery offering me healthy milk at a good price, but it's supporting small farmers too, which is something I'm hugely in favor of.

Look Into It

As a health-conscious consumer, I highly suggest looking into local milk delivery options. Again, make sure the milk is all-natural (the milk with most home delivery services is). If you go through at least 3 gallons a week, it should pay off.
