The market is competitive. Just enter the mall entrance of any department store and what are you greeted with? Makeup counters, and dozens of them!

Cosmetic companies have to provide consumers with a satisfaction-guarantee promise in order to draw customers to buy their products. That means as a consumer you can take advantage of a new lipstick shade or shampoo risk free. If you aren’t satisfied with the product, you can return it and get your money back or exchange it for another product.

If you love to shop, you will learn to love return policies too. Hold onto your receipts in case you want to return a product. It’s not always required that you have your receipt in order to exchange a product, but it usually is required if you want a cash refund.
You don’t have to buy makeup at a cosmetics counter of your nearest department store to take advantage of money-back guarantee policies. Stores like CVS and Rite-Aid also have money-back guarantees that will allow you to return a makeup product if you are not satisfied with it. So, if you love to shop you aren’t even limited to where you shop since so many stores have return policies that favor the consumer.
