What does money have to do with it? When you think about it, everything you need to buy for the bathroom adds up fast and saving money in the bathroom may be more important to a healthy household budget than you think.

Yes, the costs of operating a bathroom sure do add up. There are the cleansers, which are costly by themselves, plus shower curtains, bath mats, toiletries, and don’t forget toilet paper. Shampoo, soap, conditioner, etc. If saving money in the bathroom isn't on your list of things to do, you really need to rethink that approach.

Saving money in the bathroom is not as difficult as it sounds. No, you don't have to replace toilette paper with old magazine pages and you don't have to brush your teeth with water alone. With careful planning, you can save a lot of money on all of the items you need to keep your bathroom well stocked.

Sometimes saving money in the bathrooom is as easy as planning your toilette paper purchases. Toilet paper is one area where consumers can enjoy significant savings. This bathroom staple can often be found on sale for a lot less than the regular retail price and when you add coupons to the mix, your savings can be as much as 50 percent or more. However, don't be tempted to by single-ply generic. The cheaper your toilette paper is, the more you'll use.

Some Do-It-Yourself Bathroom Supplies

Name-brand cleansers can quickly add up. Unless you have coupons AND can find good store sales, you’re better off making your own products at home. Baking soda works wonders in the bathroom and can be used in a variety of ways. In fact, I clean my tub with baking soda and fresh lemon.

Baking soda can even be used as toothpaste, so it truly is multi purpose. Saving money in the bathroom is possible if you buy this inexpensive versatile product. Vinegar is also another great bathroom cleanser.

Another great place for bathroom cleaning supplies is your local dollar store. Sometimes you can find cleaning products that cost $2 or $3 for just $1 each. Now that's saving money!
