Do you remember the swing sets of yesteryear? The good old metal frames with a couple of plastic swings attached and a slide that was simple and straightforward? Forget the backyard playground equipment of the past and familiarize yourself with the new era of backyard playground equipment.
No Longer Just For the Rich
It used to be that if you wanted a nice wooden set of backyard playground equipment, you had to have quite a bit of disposable cash. With the majority of decent backyard playground equipment sets running into the thousands of dollars, most people settled for the boring A-Frame metal sets that cost a few hundred bucks. That’s no longer the case.
Nowadays you can get a pretty decent wooden playground equipment set including fun features like a rock wall, monkey bars, swings and a lookout tower for less than $600. In fact, I found one at Wal-Mart that cost less than $400. So if you still have little ones at home and you think they’d benefit from having playground equipment in their own backyard, you might want to think about investing in a set.

When considering backyard play structures for our kids we should also look for those that are eco-friendly. This way we are giving them something today that will not impact their environment as much tomorrow.
