What You Should Know About Web Hosting

Not All Web Hosting Is Created Equal

Oftentimes I love to embark on website adventures. I’ll build a website, see how much of a profit it can make and then I’d sell it when I grow bored. Usually the websites I create are spur-of-the moment ideas. Sometimes they’re very profitable ideas that I just don’t have the time to implement. However, what I have learned from all of my website experience is that not all web hosting is the same and if you want a website to truly succeed, there are some things you want to look for in a web hosting company.

Cheapest Is Never Best

There was one time I thought cheapest was best when it came to web hosting. Then I realized that just wasn’t always the case. Sure, if you have time to do a bunch of website research and marketing and the money to hire an SEO consultant, you may be able to get by with cheap web hosting. However, if you want to be able to utilize your web hosting tools to optimize your web pages, submit your site to the search engines, etc, you’re not going to get it for $9.99 a month.

What You Need From a Web Hosting Plan

If you are building a website for business purposes and you want that website to be successful, you obviously want to start that website off on the right foot. That means knowing what to look for in a hosting company.

If you look at the average, inexpensive web hosting plan (around $15.99 a month or less), you see that it usually comes with a certain amount of web storage, a few email accounts, perhaps free ad-supported website hosting and maybe even some SQL databases.

There are websites, like 1and1.com, that offer comprehensive web hosting solutions for $19.99 a month (about $239.88 a year). For this price, you don’t only get the web space and the email addresses; you also get valuable website software, registration of five domain names, a form builder, a newsletter tool, scripting tools, SSL certificate, and search engine submission capabilities. For many website owners, this type of web hosting can be highly effective.

If you are really serious about the success of a website and you want the “Cadillac” of web hosting services, you probably want to look into SiteBuildIt. SiteBuildIt offers web hosting, a site builder, and a marketing program all in one. It is a bit more expensive at a rate of $299 a year (about $25 a month), but it comes with much more than average website hosting services offer including domain registration, SEO optimization tools, search engine submission, brainstorming tools, an easy site builder and more.

What’s Right For You?

To figure out what web hosting solution would be best for your website needs, check out the different web hosting programs available and choose the one that offers exactly what you need it to do. Just do yourself a favor and don’t try building a professional website business on economy web hosting packages. You’ll waste time and money that would be better spent elsewhere.
