Working for Employee Discounts

Employee discounts can make that second job more enticing.

Let’s face it, sometimes one income just isn’t enough in today’s day and age. If you find yourself needing a second job, you might be discouraged by the starting wages of the part time opportunities. Just remember, thanks to employee discounts, the benefits of a second job don’t end at the hourly wage.

A Look at Employee Discounts

So you’re looking for a part-time second job and you’ve decided to avoid retail. After all, the pay isn’t great and the headaches aren’t worth it, right? You may want to rethink that decision. While the pay at for part time retail positions might not be ideal, the employee discounts may make up for the lack of wages.

Take A Look At Your Lifestyle

Let’s say you shop at XYZ Store ALL the time. In fact, you’re in there at least once a week. You’re looking for a part-time job but XYZ Store only pays $7.50 an hour. Why bother? Look a little deeper. XYZ Store also offers 20 percent employee discounts, which may make your time there worth it.

The moral of the story is this -- while part-time retail positions may not pay that much money, employee discounts can make the deal much, much sweeter.
